Technical Research Capabilities for Environmental Concerns and Bioaccumulative Toxins
As part of a technical consulting team for the City of San Francisco, Department of Environment “Toxic Reduction Program”, Envirosurvey, Inc. has been involved in evaluating chemicals found in janitorial cleaning products for carcinogenicity, reproductive toxicity, and permissible exposure effects using scientific data available from the National Institute of Health (NIH), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). A data base based on the findings as well as other team member research will be established and accessible online to the general public for alternative environmental-friendly products that may be used to substitute products containing toxic chemicals.
In addition, as part of the same team, limited work was conducted for the City of Palo Alto Pesticide Program (evaluation of tier ranking of selected pesticides) and ongoing evaluation of a pesticide “RoundUp” based on currently published scientific journals for the City of San Francisco.
